 About One Heart Organization (OHO)

One Heart Organization (OHO) is a non-profit organization that was established on June 11, 2010, It committed to creating lasting change and improving the quality of life for communities in Liberia. Founded on the belief that real transformation begins from within, OHO empowers individuals to help themselves and one another by providing the tools, knowledge, and support needed to overcome the challenges they face. Through a holistic approach to development, OHO works in the areas of education, healthcare, food security, clean water, and community empowerment to uplift lives, strengthen communities, and build a brighter, more self-reliant future.

Our Vision

Our vision is a Liberia where every individual has the opportunity to thrive, where communities are self-sufficient, and where access to basic human needs like education, healthcare, clean water, and nutrition is a reality for all. We believe in the power of unity, collaboration, and compassion to create a better future for all Liberians.

Our Mission

One Heart Organization is dedicated to empowering individuals and communities by providing access to education, healthcare, clean water, and economic opportunities. We work to build resilience, foster self-reliance, and inspire positive change that will not only improve lives but also contribute to the sustainable development of Liberia. Our mission is to help people help themselves, transforming lives and communities for the better.

Core Values

  • Empowerment: We believe in equipping individuals and communities with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to take control of their futures.
  • Collaboration: We understand that lasting change is achieved through partnerships with local communities, governments, and international organizations.
  • Sustainability: We are committed to creating long-term solutions that can be maintained by the communities we serve.
  • Compassion: We approach every project with kindness, respect, and a deep commitment to making a positive difference.
  • Integrity: We maintain the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all our work.

Our Programs

OHO’s programs are designed to address the most pressing issues faced by communities in Liberia. We take a comprehensive approach, tackling these challenges with both short-term relief and long-term sustainable solutions:

  1. Education & Empowerment: Through school-building projects, vocational training, and community-based education programs, OHO aims to provide people with the skills and knowledge to break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
  2. Healthcare: OHO is focused on expanding access to healthcare by building and renovating clinics, training healthcare workers, providing medical supplies, and running public health education programs. We are committed to improving maternal and child health, preventing disease, and addressing both physical and mental health needs.
  3. Safe Drinking Water & Sanitation: OHO works to ensure that communities have access to clean, safe drinking water by constructing wells, boreholes, and rainwater harvesting systems. We also promote hygiene and sanitation practices to reduce the spread of waterborne diseases.
  4. Food Security & Nutrition: OHO supports sustainable agriculture, distributes food, and runs nutrition programs to ensure that communities have access to healthy, nutritious food. We also advocate for women’s empowerment in agriculture, ensuring that women have the resources they need to contribute to food security in their households and communities.
  5. Community Development & Economic Empowerment: Through initiatives like microfinance, vocational training, and small business support, OHO helps create economic opportunities that promote financial independence and self-reliance. We work to build strong, resilient communities where individuals have the ability to thrive.

Our Impact

OHO’s work has touched countless lives, transforming communities by providing them with the tools to grow, heal, and succeed. By working directly with communities and involving local leaders in decision-making, we ensure that our programs are relevant, effective, and sustainable. We measure our success not just by the number of projects completed, but by the lasting, positive changes that occur in the lives of the people we serve.
